1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect data when you use the Pavlovian app ("Service").

2. Data we collect

• Account & identifiers: Apple Sign-In identifiers (auth_id), basic profile fields (name, email), and device identifiers as provided by the platform.
• Content you provide: Titles, text, voice recordings or uploads, selected avatars, schedule settings, notification preferences.
• Usage data: App interactions (e.g., play, generate, schedule), device language/locale, and basic diagnostics/crash logs.
• Payment data: Processed by the App Store. We do not store your card details.
• Optional permissions: Microphone (recording), Photos/Files (avatar or voice upload), Notifications (reminders).

3. Why we collect it

(Lawful bases: performance of service / legitimate interests / consent where required)

• To create and play narratives, generate text/voice, schedule reminders, and show your library.
• To sync your voices and narratives across sessions and manage premium voices if purchased.
• To improve stability, security, and user experience (debugging, crash logs).
• To process payments via the App Store if you buy premium features.

4. How we use and store data

• On-device: AI text generation, some audio synthesis, cached media, schedules, and notification settings.
• Cloud/backend: Account linkage (auth_id), uploaded/recorded voices, generated audio for premium/inhouse voices, schedules, and minimal metadata needed to deliver the Service.
• Retention: Kept only as long as needed for the Service or legal requirements. You can request deletion (see Section 9).

5. Sharing

• We do not sell your data.
• Service providers: Cloud hosting, storage (e.g., audio files), analytics/diagnostics, error reporting.
• Payments: Via App Store; we receive payment confirmations/receipts, not card details.
• Legal/safety: If required to comply with law or protect rights/safety.

6. User-generated content and AI

• You are responsible for the content you record or upload.
• AI-generated text/audio may be stored to deliver features you request. Review outputs before using.
• On-device AI is preferred for free voices; premium/inhouse voices may use cloud processing.

7. Cookies/Tracking

• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
• Basic analytics/diagnostics may be collected to improve stability and features.
• If platform tracking permissions apply (e.g., App Tracking Transparency), we will honor your choice.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). Do not use the app if underage.

9. Your choices and rights

• Access/update: Manage profile, content, schedules, and preferences in the app.
• Delete: Use in-app deletion or contact us to delete your account, voices, narratives, and schedules. Local data on your device will be cleared when you use the in-app delete option.
• Permissions: You can revoke microphone, photos/files, and notifications in device settings. Some features may stop working without these permissions.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is 100% secure; use the app responsibly and keep your device secure.

11. International transfers

Data may be processed in locations where our service providers operate. We apply protections consistent with this policy and applicable law.

12. Changes

We may update this Policy. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version.
